Abstract print plotted with red, blue, and black Uniball Signo UM-153 gel pens. The layers of linework shift as they travel the length of this winding ribbon allowing each color to take its turn in the foreground and changing the way they interact with the other layers.

A layer of blue lead is plotted on top of a layer of red in a spiraling polygon line. As the line progresses, the lead wears and the sharp and well defined initial line fades to a slight blur of tone.

Abstract print plotted with fountain pens filled with primary color inks; red, blue, and yellow. The consistent spacing and repetitive linework sets up a field in which the physical properties of the ink and their application become the determining factor in ink gaps and varied tones.
